The Valley of Waterfalls

Here's what I spent a good chunk of free time on in 2012. It was a Christmas gift for someone. Those are two 2'x3' canvases. I call it "The Valley of Waterfalls." I hadn't used oils in about 10 years, so it took me a while to get into it. I'm pretty pleased with the final product though.

My cat Khaleesi likes to watch me paint.  :-)

Behold...the Gilion

One night outside the bar, my friends envisioned a creature - Half lion, half giraffe. It was that night the Gilion was born, and I was enlisted to bring this vision to life. They described it as having the head/feet of lion, with the body of a giraffe. Behold! And be forever changed! For the gaze of the Gilion can pierce your very soul!
P.S. My friend Paul made t-shirts. They're pretty awesome.

Xmas Rejects

Hope everyone had a happy New Years. These are some characters that didn't quite make the cut on the card this year, but I still like them. I played around with the reindeer being in the foreground on the left side of the card. The unamused snow owl was potentially going on the inside of the card. Maybe next year, fellas!

Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals. Another year, another card. This one is the 10th! Starting to feel old over here. Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday!

Art for Friends

Here are a couple of illustrations I did for friends.
The ninja was commissioned by a friend for another friend. The one that’s not a ninja was a wine bottle label for a wedding of two friends. The wine was then consumed by many friends. Cheers!

Fools Rush In

I recently wrapped up an illustration for Girls On The Go (girlsonthego.info), a non-competitive walking and running group in Kingston, MA. They’re organizing a 5k on April 1st for the Pembroke Police Boy’s Club. All proceeds go to the PPBC. You can sign up here if you’re so inclined: https://racewire.com/register.php?id=1686. Since the race is on April Fools Day, GOTG wanted an image of a running jester. The final product is on the left as a single color. The illustration is printing on a t-shirt, so I converted the image to vector graphics to ensure super awesome print quality. It's in black/white but the black can then be printed in any color on any color t-shirt. On the right is a 4-color version I did just for fun.

Band Swag

Some folks have voiced disappointment at the lack of pretty pictures on the blog. vs my old website...So I'm going to try to bring this puppy up to speed, starting with some stuff that was never on the old site. Here are two album covers and a t-shirt that I did a few years back for the now defunct Boston-based band Say When. Anytime I can combine art and music ( two of my favorite things), I have fun and there tends to be good results. Bon Appétit!
